The Personal Contacts API alpha is part of the Personal APIs suite.
It allows you - through your website - to access and update the Orange address book of an Orange France customer.
The contacts are accessed with the customer's knowledge and consent and is applicable to registered users of www.orange.fr
The information can be retrieved once the user has been authenticated by Orange through the Authentication API.

Use this API to develop unique applications that interact with the large community of Orange customers on the web.
The Personal Contacts API gives your application real time access to Orange France customers' contacts, enabling you to view their address book and add new entries, with their permission.
The API provides a secure and controlled access to the user's contacts.

In a nutshell, the Personal Contacts API enables you to:
Retrieve a contact list that matches some search criteria.
Get contact information for a given name.
Add a contact to the user's address book.
Get and add the picture of a contact.

Currently, the API is in alpha mode, and is part of the Personal APIs alpha suite.
This means that it's FREE to use with some service limitations (as you would expect).
