LinuxWorld
6-9 August 2007
Moscone Centre
San Francisco, U.S

LinuxWorld is one of the largest events for business and technical leaders deploying Linux and Open Source solutions.

The 2007 event had a stronger focus on mobile Linux and as the ACCESS Linux platform (ALP) is an Orange Approved Platform, we teamed up with platinum sponsors ACCESS (who also sponsored the developer track) to emphasis the opportunities available for developers.

Did you meet us on the ACCESS stand…

Did you drop by and say 'hi' to Martin Wrigley, Head of Partners' technology, he was on the ACCESS stand throughout Tuesday 7 August and answered all your questions and queries about development, testing and commercialising with Orange.

Did you come and hear what we had to say in our speaking slots…

MLD1: Taking Mobile Linux Applications To Market

Speakers:

Didier Diaz, SVP, Product Strategy Management, ACCESS Co. Ltd

Steve Glagow, VP, Marketing Operations, Mobile: Orange Group

Taking Mobile Linux Applications To Market

You've developed a mobile Linux application... now how do you market and sell this application to customers?

How well you navigate this last mile -- taking an application from development to the commerce shop - could make the difference between a best-selling app versus a listing in a large catalog. In this interactive session, executives from ACCESS and Orange discussed how to work with platform and operator partners in order to bring a mobile application to market.

We discussed the resources available to you as well as what wireless operators (Orange in particular) are looking for in a winning business and consumer solution.

MLD5: Orange Compatibility - What is it and how do I get it?

Speakers:

Martin Wrigley, Head of Partners' Technology, Orange Group

Tom Chavez, Senior Product Manager, ACCESS Systems Americas, Inc

Orange Compatibility - What is it and how do I get it?

"It works in my development lab, I've tested it, so it must be OK for everyone!"

Orange has named the ACCESS Linux Platform as an approved platform on their network, and native applications will eventually need to undergo some testing to run on the Orange network. Did you come and find out why Orange insists on testing, what is a necessary level of test and how has Orange determined that? Did you ask us questions on what we are doing either on handset testing, embedded application testing, third party testing for Orange compatible or on the industry schemes and what should we be doing to make them better.
