The Orange Code Camp Contest
The Orange Code Camp Contest was open to all attendees of Orange Code Camp, Sarasota. Orange set the challenge: to develop the best and most compelling products for the Orange network, and submit by the end of the 72 hour event. Over 40 entries were received, and many were developed or finalised during the event.
Congratulations to all the winners!
"Amongst the entrants to the Code Camp Contest, there really was a fantastic array of mobile applications and solutions to choose from.
We shortlisted 11 proposals for only one overall category and three sub-categories, so the final selection was very difficult. So difficult in fact, that we had to create an additional category of 'best security product'. We could have created many more categories to give justice to the entries!
Each winning solution demonstrated a highly creative use of the mobile network, encouraging various levels of data services revenue, and the user interface capabilities were great. So congratulations to all.
Why did we choose 'Quickoffice Premier' from Quickoffice, Inc as our overall winner? It was a clear, innovative solution to an everyday problem, that of being able to access and change your Microsoft office documents remotely, without losing any of the detail over the 3G network.
The application is planned to be accessible using a variety of handsets. It is especially relevant to individuals wanting to increase their own personal productivity as well as to businesses wishing to increase the efficiency of their mobile workforce. A great all-round product, with will have fantastic potential."
