2008 Annual Business Plan and Application Competition The winners are announced! Orange Partner was proud to be a sponsor of the Mobile Rules! annual business plan and application competition. The goal of the competition was to seek out the developers and entrepreneurs (e.g.: individuals, university spin-offs, small companies and start-ups) who are creating new value, new revenue and services for mobile workforces and the mobile lifestyle. The competition was divided into two tracks; Mobile applications and Mobile business plans. Track 1 - Mobile applications included the following categories: Multiplayer/Connected games Multimedia Enterprise InfotainmentNokia was looking for new applications that use the unique enablers of the Nokia Platforms. Applications were judged on uniqueness, design, ease of use and overall end-user experience. For Multiplayer/Connected Games, Nokia were offering the SNAP platform for development and testing purposes. Track 2 - Mobile business plans The main focus areas of the business and competition were: Communication and sharing Internet innovation and mobility Human and green applicationsHowever, there were no limitations – as long as it was about mobile business. Plans were judged for novelty value and innovation, market potential, customer adoption, revenue opportunity and investor value. the prizes
The Mobile Rules! competition had two tracks: Applications (4 categories) and Business Plans (1 category). Each category had it's own grand prize winner - with the right to use the title "Mobile Ruler '08". Track 1 - Mobile applications winners 1 Grand prize winner per category won: Fast-track contract negotiation and publishing opportunities with one of the sponsors or 10,000 USD after a year if no contract has been established. Premium placement of your application in Nokia Software Market, accessible through Nokia Content Discoverer on Nokia devices, and participation in "Trial for Free" in the Asia Pacific region, excluding Greater China. Promotion of content in Forum Nokia (FN) developer communities. One year free FN Launchpad membership. Choice of five Nokia mobile devices, excluding Vertu products.2 Runner-up Winners per category won: Fast-track contract negotiation and publishing opportunities with one of the sponsors. Placement of your application in Nokia Software Market, accessible through Nokia Content Discoverer on Nokia devices, and participation in "Trial for Free" in the Asia Pacific region, excluding Greater China. Promotion of content in Forum Nokia (FN) developer communities.
