What was the Nokia Series 60 Challenge?

Orange and Nokia challenged you to come up with ideas and subsequent applications to be developed for use on a Nokia 6630 or the new Series 60 GPRS/3G/EDGE device, over the Symbian operating system using the Series 60 user interface. The most innovative applications had the potential of being commercialized over the Orange 3G network.

What did we want to achieve?

The objective of the Challenge was to produce Symbian OS/Series 60 applications optimized for 3G networks. After application ideas were submitted, the best ones were selected and offered prioritized development support from Forum Nokia, after which they went through the Symbian Signed certification. Fully tested applications then went through Orange testing in view of possible commercial launch over the Orange 3G networks in the UK, France and Switzerland.
