what was the Orange Code Camp Contest?  


Orange challenged you to develop the best and most compelling products for the Orange network.
Whilst at Orange Code Camp the experts from Orange and our sponsors were on hand to help you code and finalise your products for submission in to The Orange Contest – giving you the maximum help required to win!
The most new and innovative products with the most potential for commercialisation with Orange were chosen as winners.


the criteria - what were we looking for?    


We were looking for commercially viable, innovative products, developed within industry standards, for the following categories:

 Best overall product of the Orange Code Camp, Opio 
 Most compelling use of an operating system
 Best entertainment product (including all games, multimedia and content)
 Best use of the Orange voice and data networks


the timeline   

Pre-Event: (optional)
To benefit the most from pre-event advice and feedback, you could submit your ideas in the 'my account' section on www.orangepartner.com.  We then gave you our feedback before the event.

At Code Camp:
At Code Camp, you could finish developing your product with help and support from Orange and our partners.

Your submission must have included the following information:

1. name of product and 100 word description
2. target market (based on the categories listed above)
3. business/commercial rationale for product development
4. your track record in commercial product development including success stories (and 100 word summary of your company)
5. languages supported (E.G: English, French, German)
6. details of APIs and data bearers supported
7. second line support capabilities (e.g. hosting)
8. the product files

Deadline: 8am  – 19 October

 Fast-track submission in to the Orange Internal Product Catalogue 
 Maximum exposure in the Orange internal product catalogue by being a "featured product" for four weeks each.


who judged The Orange Code Camp Contest?   

This took place on the final day (19 October) of Orange Code Camp, Opio.
The judges were made up of a panel of experts from Orange and the Code Camp sponsors.

How were the winners notified?

The winners from all categories were announced at the Closing Pow-Wow of Orange Code Camp.
