website: more new features on www.orangepartner.com ...

www.orangepartner.com is evolving apace. We hope you’ve been using the ‘most read’ and ‘top searches’ tabs to see what your peers are interested in, as well as bookmarking and sharing your favourite site areas through the social bookmarking links at the bottom of each page.

The latest new feature just released is ‘related tags’ – you’ll see that we’ve tagged some pages to help you find related information. Plus, we’ve also changed the site navigation design, making it easier for you to get around and find what you’re looking for

There are more site enhancements on the way, so please let us know what you think of what we’ve done so far, and what you’d like to see coming soon – Orange Partner is your portal. Send us your suggestions at developers@orange.com with ‘website feedback’ in the subject line.

(And, the site will be fully re-vamped by the end of March ... more information to follow soon.)

  Orange APIs: improved website navigation

As a result of your valuable feedback, the Orange APIs are now grouped in families on the website – Instant, Advanced, Personal and Web 2.0.

We’ve also redesigned the way the APIs are presented, making it even easier to understand what the different groups of APIs enable, and how you can integrate our APIs into your applications. Plus we’ve created new icons for each API, making the different functions instantly recognisable.

  Orange APIs: 2 new APIs

The two new APIs this month are both additions to our range of Instant APIs, allowing you to instantly develop apps to enhance communication between users of your website. They’re both available to use now, in alpha mode, free of charge.

VoiceMashup API
The VoiceMashup API allows you to simply create a vocal service (an automated dialogue made of recorded sounds and vocalised texts, that can be operated via phone keypad) using the VoiceXML language.

Mobeasy platform
The Mobeasy platform allows you to deliver custom mobile-friendly web pages to any mobile device, optimising user experience.

Simply develop your mobile-friendly web pages using OrangeML (Orange Markup Language) and the Mobeasy platform automatically transforms them with optimal rendering (alignments, font sizes, image sizes, etc) to the destination device.

Orange APIs: location API just commercialised, with click-to-call API to be commercialised soon ....

location API

The location API has just become commercially available (in beta mode). This API allows you to locate a user’s mobile (currently only on the Orange France network) within your web application using Cell ID technology. You can now purchase credits for locating a mobile phone with no daily limits to your credits.

SMS API

And just a reminder that we recently commercialised the SMS API (in beta mode) – you can use this API to send and receive text messages within your web application. Now that it’s in ‘beta’ mode, you can purchase credits for sending and receiving text message, and earn credits by receiving text messages to your app via one of a set of French premium short codes

click-to-call API

Click-to-call is the next API we’ll be making commercially available - in fact, by the time you read this it may well be live already as it's due to be commercialised in beta in the next few days.
This API allows you to establish phone calls between two numbers (landline, VoIP terminal or mobile) within your web application. Use it to build relationships among your users, or between your users and yourself.
