hello...
The economy is the buzz word this month (and maybe for the remainder of this year and next).
Our industry has fortunately not slowed to the same pace as many. I suppose people continue to want to communicate in both good times and bad. They also seem to want the solace of using their handset for some entertainment or productivity. The Apple Application Shop continues to thrive; even my non-techie sister has bought lot's of apps and games for her iTouch.
I was in San Francisco last month for CTIA. We had over 500 people visit us in our booth. Although it was a great turnout for us, I felt that there were fewer people at the show this year than last. The event itself was uninspiring. The Navteq conference was a good one though the day before CTIA started, as was the SIRF event on day one. On the last day, Caroline Lewko held her Mobile Jam Session with great success. I also had the privilege of judging the GSMA Innovation Awards in September for the Israeli competition. Congratulations to InfoGin who have terrific technology to mobilise websites.
Registration has opened for Partner Camp and we have already had a significant number of sign-ups. Partner Camp takes place 15-17 December in Cape Canaveral, Florida. We are finalising the program now for the event and it is great! The number of requests from Orange country decision makers as well as many France Telecom groups are already over allocation. There will be more Orange/FT people to meet then ever before, and they are keen (as am I and the rest of the Orange Partner Team) to meet you. Please register now at www.orangepartnercamp.com. We have kept the price at $595 for all three days including your camp session, hotel, food and entertainment. Our Platinum Sponsor again this year is Access!
This month's newsletter features information on our new APIs, success stories (and we would like to write some more about yours), new devices, and details of the GSMA Mobile Innovation Awards. I hope you enjoy it.
Best regards,
Steve Glagow VP, Orange Partner |

To make our website even more user-friendly and representative of the Orange Partner member community, we've been looking at increasing site interactivity.
We have some ideas in mind, including personalised favourites and quick links, social bookmarking, plus most-read and most-searched listings, so you can see what others are interested in. Plus, you'll be able to PDF, print or email webpages.
Do you have any ideas? For example, how do you use the forum? And what about the developers@orange.com email helpline? Do you want a wiki?
We'd really like to know what you think - send us an email at developers@orange.com with 'improve the website' in the subject line.
All valid suggestions that we use will be credited in a future newsletter.
