ORANGE CODE CAMP EVENT LAUNCHED FOR THE DEVELOPER COMMUNITY

Three-day training and workshop event to help develop for mobile Operating Systems including Windows Mobile, Symbian, Palm and Java

28th June 2004. San Francisco, Amsterdam, London.

Orange today announced the launch of a new three-day event – Orange Code Camp – which is designed to help the developer community create new applications for both present and next generation phones.

The event will run from September 13th to 16th 2004, at the Futuroscope science park near Poitiers, France. It is designed to provide the application development community with a series of workshops, keynote addresses, seminars and break-out sessions in which they can learn about the Orange Partner Programme, debate new industry initiatives and actively develop new applications which have the potential to be launched to Orange customers. Up to 250 developers are expected to attend. They will be given access to the Orange network and handsets in order to create new applications which can then be offered for consideration for commercialisation with Orange.

Steve Glagow, Director of Orange Partner, said: "We are entering a new era in the mobile phone evolution where applications and services become driving forces for customers. We are focused on working with the developer community to create new applications and Orange Code Camp is the first time that we will have truly engaged with that community face-to-face. It will give developers the opportunity to meet with Orange Executives, our partners and their peers, as well as take part in workshops, network and brainstorming sessions, giving them unparalleled access to Orange personnel, Orange phones and the Orange network."

Orange Code Camp will support a number of different operating systems including Windows Mobile, Symbian, Palm and Java.

Nokia are platinum sponsor of Orange Code Camp, and up-to-the-minute information about the event will be available on the Orange Partner site – www.developers.orange.com
