The Treo 600 has a unique built-in keyboard as well as a large, touch-sensitive colour screen, stylus and integrated camera. Customers can also email and access the Internet straight out of the box. They can even download Word and Excel email attachments on the phone. All of these applications and more are available within the robust, lightweight design of the Treo 600 from Orange.

The Treo 600 is the latest Orange Signature phone giving Orange customers one-touch access to key services, exclusive Orange services, and an Orange look and feel. It answers the needs of business professionals who need to email, access the Internet, and stay in touch wherever they are.

Orange developed the device with Handspring, a leading innovator in personal communications and handheld computing. The two companies worked together to refine the hardware and integrate the Orange look and feel, applications and services that bring a unique customer experience to the device.

As an Orange Signature phone, the Treo 600 also features exclusive services for Orange customers such as an innovative function called Orange Backup. Orange Backup allows customers to store their personal and business data such as contacts and calendar on the Orange network and restore those details when required. That means that if a customer loses their phone, the information remains secure on the Orange network and can be restored on a new phone. There is also the Orange Update feature which lets customers update their phone with the latest software as well as download and store new applications over the air.

Richard Brennan, Executive Vice-President of Global Brand, Marketing and Products of the Orange Group, said: The Treo 600 is the latest and one of the most exciting Orange Signature phones to date. It has everything that a business professional needs to get the most out of the working day and ensure they keep up with their social life.

The Treo 600 will prove attractive to both the individual customer who wants to ensure they stay connected while theyre out of the office, as well as SOHOs and corporate customers who need to make sure their workforce are fully equipped to make the most out of their working day.

He added: Once again, Orange is partnering with like-minded companies to ensure our customers are first to benefit from the most innovative products and advanced, easy to use mobile services. Now Orange customers can choose a device with the functionality, text input and size they require as well as the operating system that best suits them be it Windows or Palm.

Donna Dubinsky, CEO of Handspring, said: Orange has been an ideal partner to work with in creating an end-to-end solution that works out of the box. Together, Handspring and Orange are delivering a world-class mobile device that sets new standards for the category through seamless integration of the device, the software, the network and the Internet."

There are currently four million Palm OS users in Europe alone*. Over 250,000 developers are creating solutions based on the world-leading Palm OS, with more than 19,000 software applications already available.

David Nagel, President and CEO of PalmSource the company behind Palm OS - said: The Treo 600 is a high-performance device that displays the power and simplicity of Palm OS. Together with over 19,000 applications available for Palm Powered handhelds and smartphones, I believe the Treo 600 and the Orange network services provide the perfect solution for personal and business use.
