within our range of Signature devices which offers the latest 3D games, ring tones and wallpapers for consumers to download in one click

We’re very excited to announce that there is now a new ‘applications’ category on Orange Downloads, featuring a select number of apps from the country Application Shop.
It’s accessed via the Orange homescreen, so experiences high levels of visibility, traffic and sales, and is now live on Orange Downloads for Orange UK and Orange France customers with other countries to make similar available to their customers very soon...
Sales of the 5 apps featured on Orange Downloads in the UK in the first week went up by 113%; by the 4th week, sales were up by 277%.
Plus, we saw a direct increase in overall UK Application Shop sales, as a result of the link from Orange Downloads through to the UK’s Application Shop, intended to push consumers to the full range of applications.

The new ‘applications’ category went live on an initial 13 Orange UK Signature devices, end of November 2008, and apps featured were exclusively from 3rd parties.
Orange France was the next country to add the ‘applications’ category to Orange Downloads, also going live on an initial 13 devices.
Orange France have used a slightly different model, and feature 3rd party apps, plus some free Orange apps which are not already embedded on the device.
Additional launched Signature devices are being updated weekly in both countries, and as of 2009 many new Signature devices will feature ‘applications’ on Orange Downloads.

Orange Downloads menu for pre-2009 signature devices?
Currently, there are 3 categories on Orange Downloads:
Ringtones
Pictures
Games
An updated version, with the new ‘applications’ category, is being installed automatically onto Orange Downloads where its embedded on existing devices.
Consumers will not be aware of the upgrade, and will simply see the new ‘applications’ category the next time they access Orange Downloads.
Because Orange Downloads is embedded on Orange devices, the ‘applications’ category will also feature on many new Signature devices from 2009.
From the example image, you can see that, in both cases, the new category will be highlighted to consumers with a “new” icon.
The ‘applications’ category features a small number of apps for consumers to browse and buy.
Plus, there's a link from Orange Downloads through to the country’s Application Shop or Orange World portal to push consumers to the full range of applications.
Once a consumer decides to purchase an application, a WAP session is automatically started to enable them to purchase and download it in one click. |

Orange Downloads?
The following device models already feature Orange Downloads.
The ‘applications’ category will be added automatically to the thousands of these handsets already in circulation, and to all those sold going forward.

how do you get your application listed on Orange Downloads?
Apps are selected from the apps available for sale in the country Orange Application Shop, or Orange World in France.
A small number will be regularly selected to appear for two weeks on Orange Downloads.
For your application to feature on Orange Downloads, it must therefore already be live in the Orange Application Shop, or Orange World in France.
