The Orange vision for a "digital home", is one where :
- multimedia content can be delivered on any device - from TV to PC to mobile phone, at user's convenience, combining personal and public content in a seamless experience.
- broadband and home connectivity transform the inter-personal communication experience.
We explained all this to you and went one step further, highlighting the areas in which we counted on partners to enrich the Digital Home experience (which were expanded upon in the ‘we need’ sessions) :
- device manufacturers : we wanted to provide you with the APIs you need to make your devices and their applications compliant with Orange services, giving you a competitive advantage for Orange customers. And we had a specific challenge for you : reinvent the TV UI with disruptive remote control systems !
- on-device application developers :
- the future belongs to open TV services market place ; you helped us build a TV application shop for open set-top boxes
- our IP phones will not be closed Orange phones : you helped us feature them with attractive data applications
- TV/VOD service solution providers : you helped us find innovative interactive TV/VOD solutions to help our customers navigate through the variety of contents they deal with (Orange content, UGC, third party content). Recommendation is the key!
- Web application developers : we needed YOU twice - to enhance soft-telephony experience on PC, and to make social networks a place where interpersonal communication thrives !

Entertainment content is now digitalized. The digital revolution, which took place for music, has strongly impacted all entertainment content: games, movies, TV, magazines and press.
The generalization of mobile and fixed broadband networks associated with new generation of entertainment communication devices gives huge opportunities to reinvent the distribution and the consumption of such content.
At this stage, we have only discovered the first wave of pioneering services.
MMORPG, delinearization of TV, multisite creation of music, interactive VoD, epaper and magazines are few examples innovation which we could create together.
Orange, with its Content Direction, has became a major actor in the digital content revolution.

We needed... innovative solutions for remote control, tracking consumption, interactive user interface and recommendation engine.
Content availability is key to digital distribution. The customer has a huge range of content to choose from: 200 TV channels, several of thousands of VoD, etc etc,, and the user interface on mobile and TV is not fine-tuned to find the right content at the right time.
We’re working in the field of personalisation and tracking / recommendation engines to offer – through a simple user interface - the right content at the right time to suit the specific customer’s needs. And we need your help to do this.

We needed you to bring your solutions, and help us answer to the following questions:
- how can we take advantage of the new ways of communicating in Social Networks to enrich current services?
- what new services can stimulate a user to communicate more directly with selected members of his “real” or web social networks?
- one of the known methods to merge the Social Network world into the mobile communications world is by enriching the Mobile Address Book by newsfeed or presence. Are there any other mechanisms that can influence a mobile user?

Orange Trial Factory is Orange France's Value Added Services (VAS) Innovation program. It aims to discover and trial new innovative mobile and convergent products and services, with a view to commercialising them with Orange France.
Orange Trial Factory promotes the most promising innovative solutions internally, to Orange France business teams, and helps partners and startups to identify the most relevant marketing stakeholders who would potentially "sponsors" the trial. Once the solution is selected for trial, Orange Trial Factory manages the setting-up and running of the trial.
The goal of Orange Trail Factory is to reduce the time to market for innovative products and services. It identifies and tracks new innovative startups/products before competitors, and before the services become popular. By making use of a dedicated in-house trial platform and the "innovation collaboration" of our IT partner - one of the biggest system integrators worldwide - Orange Trial Factory is able to significantly speed-up integration phases, trial set-up and duration.
